  • To continually develop our awareness of the needs of our patients, our communities and our staff.
  • To develop state-of-the-art facilities, programs and information systems.
  • To attain recovery goals through linkages with schools, churches, and agencies.
  • To continuously improve the variety and quality of our services.
  • To promote continuous learning among multi-disciplinary staff.
  • To respect cultural, racial, religious, gender and other diversities.
  • To assist patients to improve their quality of life and reduce the stigma of mental illness.

We strive to guide our agency according to the following values:

  • Collaboration
  • Excellence
  • Empowerment

CMHC is part of a learning collaborative to ensure that all staff understand the effects of trauma and that all programming and services are offered through the lens of sensitivity to trauma.  Policies, programs and our spaces are developed with the goal of helping everyone feeling physically and psychologically safe.  We firmly believe that healing from trauma is possible and have trained our clinical staff in evidence-based practices known to be effective in aiding in the healing process.

A trauma-informed approach is based on the recognition that many behaviors and responses expressed by survivors are directly related to trauma experiences.  – National Center for Trauma-Informed Care
