  • Empowerment

CMHC is part of a learning collaborative to ensure that all staff understand the effects of trauma and that all programming and services are offered through the lens of sensitivity to trauma.  Policies, programs and our spaces are developed with the goal of helping everyone feeling physically and psychologically safe.  We firmly believe that healing from trauma is possible and have trained our clinical staff in evidence-based practices known to be effective in aiding in the healing process.

A trauma-informed approach is based on the recognition that many behaviors and responses expressed by survivors are directly related to trauma experiences.  – National Center for Trauma-Informed Care
