Telehealth

To increase the availability of psychiatric services, telehealth services are used in some of our locations. This means that the prescriber (a psychiatrist or a psychiatric nurse practitioner) is on a video screen and interacts with the patient using telecommunications technology, similar to Skype. Nursing staff assist the patient in the process, obtain vital signs, and help with scheduling appointments. Telehealth services also may be available for therapy appointments. Telehealth services are paid by insurance companies the same way as in-person appointments.
